NE506: NEW TESTAMENT EXEGESIS: PHILIPPIANS. G. Walter Hansen.


DESCRIPTION:

Exegesis of the Greek text of Philippians with special emphasis on its major theological themes: Christology, life in Christ, unity in the church, partnership in the gospel.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
The central focus of this letter and this course is ministry in Christ, under Christ, for Christ, and by Christ.

COURSE FORMAT:
A seminar workshop with student presentations and discussion. Class will meet twice a week for ninety-minute sessions.

  2. Presence and participation in class.

  3. Weekly written assignments (1-2 pages) on exegetical issues to be discussed in class.

  4. A ten-page exposition of a theological theme or a ten-page commentary on 5-8 verses.

PREREQUISITES:
LG512, NE502 and NS501.
