NS512: JESUS AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Victor R. Gordon.


DESCRIPTION:
This course is an exegetical and systematic study of Jesus' teaching on the kingdom of God.
The course will seek to set Jesus' kingdom ministry in historical context and also address how

his teaching relates to the apostolic gospel and NT theology. There will be a hermeneutical concern as to how Jesus' gospel of the kingdom may impact contemporary life and ministry.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
An understanding of the subject of this course is essential for understanding the core of the Christian faith: Jesus and the gospel. Both good theology and effective ministry must be grounded in a thorough knowledge of Jesus and his teaching.

COURSE FORMAT:
Lecture and discussion. The course will meet weekly for a three-hour session.
