CN547: MODELS OF KOREAN FAMILY MINISTRY. Yea Sun E. Kim.

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to equip Korean church leaders to lead family life ministry programs. In this course, Korean churches will be analyzed in light of their need for and barriers to family ministry. Models of family ministry will be introduced. Special emphasis will be given to how to conduct marital education programs and single ministry programs suitable for Korean churches.

RELEVANCE FOR MINISTRY:
The first place Korean Christian families turn to for help with their serious and ever-increasing family problems is the church. However, the concept of family ministry is not fully introduced to Korean congregations, and Korean church leaders are not properly trained to prevent or heal family pain. Therefore, it is imperative that Korean students preparing for church ministry be equipped with the ability to initiate family ministry.

The course will meet for ten weeks on Thursday evenings for a three-hour class session for student presentations, discussion, lectures, and video-tapes.
