Integration in
China
The School of Psychology at Fuller has, over the past few years, developed a
relationship with Chinese seminaries and psychological institutes and is currently
working on partnering with programs in China to begin an MFT program there.
Two different Chinese professors have come as visiting faculty to Fuller in the
past three years for further studies and to continue developing relationships
with Fuller. Fuller students, alumnus/ae, and faculty have traveled to
China over the
past few years to teach courses and give lectures at different seminaries and
schools of psychology as well.
Partnering with institutes in China has opened up exciting
opportunities to study how therapy and counseling differ within the East Asian
context as well as support the growing church in China in the critical areas of
pastoral counseling.

2003 Trip to China
Bishop Ting is concerned to develop a theology that is
appropriate to Chinese Christians and which helps them serve the larger
society. In our interview he mentioned
that a pastoral psychologist who teaches at the Nanjing Seminary is one of its
most popular teachers.
Nanjing Union Theological Seminary is the only seminary serving all of China's
registered churches. It was reopened in 1981.

Dr. Winston Gooden, Dean of the School of Psychology addressed the student
body.

Dr. Al Dueck, Chair of Integration addressed the seminary community on the
topic of a Christian Psychology in an Era of Openness.
