Distance Learning Options

Master of Arts Degrees in the School of Intercultural Studies allow for a generous proportion of coursework to be completed in contexts other than a Pasadena classroom.  Available modes of delivery include:

• Classes at Extension campuses;
• Directed studies (see your advisor);
• Individualized Distance Learning courses (study at your own pace using audio files and pdf notebook); and
• Online courses. 

However, the amount of distance learning units in your program will be limited by degree residency requirements and is directly affected by transfer credit.  Therefore, if you are considering taking any distance learning classes towards your SIS degree, you MUST consult with your academic advisor.

Please note that we also offer a degree that can be accomplished entirely via these off-campus approaches, the Master of Arts in Global Leadership.
