not owned by McAlister Library. You may track your pending Interlibrary Loan requests using ILLiad: Click here to check the status of requests you've already made. Automated Interlibrary Loan Services For your convenience, we have set up a link between our Interlibrary Loan services and most databases, including WorldCat and the Ebsco databases. This link permits you to initiate interlibrary loan requests, for book or article citations found as a result of your database search. See ILLiad (next). ILLiad Interlibrary Loan Request and Tracking Service When you want to request an interlibrary loan, databases like WorldCat and Ebsco will direct you to the ILLiad system. (Follow the link "More full-text option and library catalog.", and look for the ILL link at the bottom, if there is no online text.) You'll logon with your Portico username and password. ILLiad will copy the citation from the database. Then you complete the online form and request the book or article. Here are some advantages of ILLiad:
Manual Interlibrary Loan Services When you find citations in footnotes and bibliographies, please try to verify the book or article citation in an online database, and use the automated loan procedure above. If you cannot find the citation in a database, for books, please check the online catalog to see if Fuller owns the book you want. For articles, please check the Periodical Titles List (electronic and print) to see if Fuller owns the journal issue you want. If you are making a manual journal request, please look up the journal title in WorldCat to find the "Accession number/OCLC number" and ISSN, then include those numbers in your request. Click here for the manual Illiad online form. Logon with your Portico username and password, then, on the left side, chose the New Request Article or Book or Chapter form, and follow the instructions. Interlibrary Loan of Books We are able to obtain most monographs that you may need in your research, regardless of language or country of publication. The lending institution establishes the loan periods and conditions for their use. Please check the Fuller Library Catalog before requesting a book through interlibrary loan. Then find the book in WorldCat, and click on the Interlibrary Loan link to copy the citation to ILLiad (see above). Interlibrary Delivery of Journal Articles For journal articles not owned by the Library, we will try to secure photocopies and/or faxes. You are welcome to keep the photocopies obtained through this service. Please check our library holdings in the Periodical titles list before requesting an article through interlibrary loan. Charges for Interlibrary loan We will make every effort to borrow materials without charge. Costs for students will vary according to the lending library. Often the cost is free, but it may be $20 or more per item. Students can specify a maximum cost they are willing to pay. Charges will be placed on your library account, and you will not be permitted to check out books until the charges are paid. Costs for regular Faculty will be absorbed by McAlister Library. For details on our policies see: Interlibrary Loan Policies and Procedures. Other Document Delivery Services Electronic full-text articles. Many of our subscription databases include full-text. You may display the articles onscreen, print them out, or email them to another account. A list of electronic and print journals is available or you may search the databases. Fax and direct mail of articles. The Library provides, but does not fund, this service. For a fee many of the databases will give you several options of direct document delivery from commercial vendors, including fax, rush mail, and normal mail, as an alternative to interlibrary loan. |
